What’s included

What you get

Everything in scope, from first workshop to launch.

01Start

Product discovery

Workshops to map users, flows and the smallest version worth launching.

Read more +Show less −

Product discovery is a short series of workshops, usually 1–2 weeks, where we agree who the platform is for, what it must do and what the first release includes. You come out with a clear product brief and a fixed, itemised quote. Nothing is built until you have approved both.

What you get

  • Written product brief covering users, goals and constraints
  • User flow diagrams for each key journey
  • Prioritised feature list split into launch and later
  • Proposed tech stack with reasons for each choice
  • Fixed, itemised quote and delivery timeline

How it works

  1. Kick-off workshop with your team and key stakeholders
  2. Map users, journeys and the jobs the platform must do
  3. Agree the smallest version worth launching
  4. Present the brief, stack and fixed quote for approval

Good to know: Bring the people who will use the system day to day, not only decision makers, as they spot gaps early.

02Design

UI design

Clickable designs for every screen, approved before code.

Read more +Show less −

UI design turns the agreed flows into clickable Figma designs for every screen, so you can see and test the product before any code is written. Design usually takes 2–4 weeks, depending on the number of screens. You approve each screen before it goes to the developers.

What you get

  • Low-fidelity wireframes for every key screen
  • Full visual design in your brand colours and type
  • Clickable Figma prototype of the main journeys
  • Design system of reusable components and styles
  • Mobile, tablet and desktop layouts for each screen

How it works

  1. Sketch wireframes and agree page structure with you
  2. Apply visual style and build the design system
  3. Link screens into a clickable prototype for review
  4. Refine based on your feedback, then sign off

Good to know: Share your brand guidelines, logo files and any sites you like at the start to save a round of revisions.

03Build

Frontend build

Fast, accessible interfaces in React and Next.js.

Read more +Show less −

The frontend build turns the approved designs into the screens your users see and use, written in React, Next.js and TypeScript. It runs in two-week sprints, each ending with a live demo you can click through. We aim for pages that load in under 2 seconds and meet WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility guidance.

What you get

  • Responsive interface that works on phones, tablets and desktops
  • Reusable component library matching the design system
  • Accessibility checks against WCAG 2.2 AA
  • Lighthouse speed and SEO reports for key pages
  • Automated browser tests with Playwright for core journeys
  • Source code in a repository you own

How it works

  1. Set up the project, repository and design components
  2. Build screens sprint by sprint from the approved designs
  3. Test across browsers and devices as we go
  4. Demo working features to you every two weeks

Good to know: Final text and images are often the last thing to arrive, so sending real content early keeps the build on schedule.

04Build

Backend & APIs

Secure APIs, databases and integrations with your tools.

Read more +Show less −

The backend is the part users do not see: the database, business rules, logins and the APIs that connect your platform to other tools. We build it in Node.js or Python with PostgreSQL, alongside the frontend in the same two-week sprints. Every integration is tested against the real service before launch.

What you get

  • Secure API with documented endpoints
  • PostgreSQL database designed around your data
  • User accounts, logins and role-based permissions
  • Integrations with your existing tools, such as CRM or payments
  • Automated tests for business rules and integrations
  • Admin area or CMS such as Strapi for your team

How it works

  1. Design the data model and API from the agreed features
  2. Build core logic, accounts and permissions
  3. Connect third-party services and test each integration
  4. Review security and performance before release

Good to know: We need test or sandbox access to any systems we integrate with, so it helps to request these during discovery.

05Launch

Launch & hosting

Cloud deployment, monitoring and backups from day one.

Read more +Show less −

Launch and hosting covers putting your platform live on cloud hosting such as AWS or Azure, with monitoring and backups running from the first day. Releases go out through an automated pipeline, so updates take minutes, not a weekend. UK or EU hosting is available on request, and the cloud accounts are yours.

What you get

  • Production and staging environments in your own cloud account
  • Automated CI/CD pipeline for tested, repeatable releases
  • Error and uptime monitoring with alerts, using tools like Sentry
  • Daily backups with a tested restore process
  • Domain, SSL certificate and DNS set up
  • Launch checklist and short runbook for your team

How it works

  1. Set up hosting, environments and the release pipeline
  2. Run final browser, speed and SEO checks on staging
  3. Go live with a rollback plan ready
  4. Watch errors and performance closely in the first weeks

Good to know: Plan launch away from your busiest trading days so any early issues have little impact on customers.

FAQ

Web development questions

How long does a web app take to build?

Most of our web projects launch in 8–16 weeks, depending on features and integrations. You see working pages at a demo every two weeks.

What is the difference between a website and a web app?

A website mainly presents information. A web app lets users log in, enter data and complete tasks, such as portals, booking systems or dashboards.

Which technologies do you use?

Usually React and Next.js with TypeScript, a Node.js or Python back end, and a headless CMS where content editing is needed. Everything is documented for your team.

Will my site be fast, accessible and SEO-friendly?

Yes. We build to Core Web Vitals targets and WCAG 2.2 AA, with clean URLs, metadata and structured data as standard.

Do I own the website and hosting?

Yes. The code lives in your repository and the hosting, domain and analytics accounts are in your name.

Can you redesign or rebuild an existing site?

Yes. We audit the current site, keep what works, migrate content and set up redirects so you keep your search rankings.
